Knitting Tales Originals
The Falling Leaves Hat
The Falling Leaves Hat is a simple two color stranded color work hat. Knit in a fingering (jumper) weight yarn. The original was knit in Plied Yarns.
The Reversals Mitt Collection
Reversals is a collection of four stranded colorwork fingerless mitts drawn from motifs in Andrea Rangle’s stitch dictionary AlterKnit. Each of the patterns is named for a woman in my family, who when faced with a reversal, changed what she put forward and was able to move forward.
Because each pattern uses only two colors, each can be a good introduction to stranded colorwork. Each pattern can also be knit in any of four sizes (see the Gauge/Size section below). Each pattern also has charts for both color variations.

The Chanukah Socks
In the Jewish calendar Chanukah is not the big holiday equivalent of Christmas, but who does not like celebratory socks? In 2020 West Yorkshire Spinners holiday yarn, Silent Night seemed perfect for celebrating!
This sock is worked top-down with a heel flap. The pattern is a simple combination of knits and purls designed to evoke the shape of candles in a 20 round repeat. There are, of course, eight candles in each round. The pattern is provided in a chart.
This pattern is offered in one size only. The pattern notes several places where the length can be adjusted.
